Kudzu (Pueraria Lobata)

The huge Kudzu root, which can grow to the size of a human, is the source of its medicinal properties. Kudzu root has been known for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine as ge-gen. In traditional Chinese Medicine, kudzu root is used in prescriptions for the treatment of wei, or “superficial syndrome”, a disease that manifests just under the surface of the body. This includes mild fever, thirst, headache, and stiff neck muscles. It is also used traditionally for allergies, migraines, headaches and diarrhea. Practitioners of modern Chinese medicine use kudzu as a treatment for angina pectoris and hypertension.

The herb has been observed to improve cerebral circulation by lowering vascular resistance of the cerebral vessels. Other observed effects include reduction in blood pressure, especially in renal hypertension. It is also reported to be effective in the treatment of earlier stages of deafness and in optic nerve atrophy or retinitis. Extracts of the herb have shown antipyretic and anticonvulsant effects. This herb is used by traditional Chinese physicians to dispel "pathogenic factors" from the superficial muscles, to reduce "heat", to reinforce yang, to promote "eruption", to promote salivation, and to relieve thirst.

For more than 1,300 years, traditional Chinese healers have used an herbal medicine derived from the root of the kudzu vine to treat alcohol abuse. Now Western scientists have extracted two active ingredients from the herb and have determined that they reduced alcohol consumption in animal studies.

Kudzu is rich in the glycoside puerarin and daidzin. Modern scientific researchers are currently investigating the various health benefits of these two phytochemicals.

Gingko Biloba

This is one of the best herbs available for promoting blood flow and oxygenation throughout the entire body. It has been shown to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. It also reduces inflammation in the blood vessels, and helps prevent platelet aggregation and blood clotting that can lead to blocked arteries.

Green Tea (Camellia Sinensis)

Green Tea extract contains polyphenols, which are very strong antioxidants against the free radicals that can result from excess alcohol consumption. HerbaSway uses a Green tea extract standardized for 95% polyphenols. Other health benefits one can expect from the polyphenols are:

Directions: Shake well. Mix one full dropper of Kudja™ to a cup of water at any temperature. Drink 2 – 3 times throughout the day or as often as desired. Take double doses before drinking alcohol and a single dose afterwards for best results.
